| DANISH EXPERIENCE FROM 10 YEARS OF PRODUCTIVITY
DEVELOPMENT
af Sven Bertelsen og Jørgen Nielsen
Abstract
Over the last ten years a number of sector analyses and development
programmes have been carried out in Denmark with an aim to increase
productivity within the building sector. This has been undertaken
in a continuous co-operation between the authorities, the research
institutes and the industry itself.
The paper reviews this development and highlights positive as well
as negative experience. From the review it appears that a systematic
increase of productivity is possible. However, it is also apparent
that there are barriers that have to be surmounted, if a successful
change from craftsmanship into a modern industry shall take place.
The experience gained is concluded in seven preconditions, which
have to be fulfilled for a development programme to give permanent
results.
Key words: productivity; development; re-engineering; Denmark;
